How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Grazing Kelpie.
2. When Grazing Kelpie dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Hardened Academic triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Grazing Kelpie.
4. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop puts Grazing Kelpie and Bloodflow Connoisseur into a perpetual cycle of sacrifice and resurrection, fueled by the Kelpie's persist ability. Because the Kelpie leaves the graveyard to return to the battlefield, Hardened Academic triggers to place a +1/+1 counter on it, which immediately neutralizes the -1/-1 counter it would otherwise accumulate. This interaction allows you to sacrifice the Kelpie over and over again, generating an endless stream of death triggers and massive creatures.
