How it works

1. Activate Loyal Retainers by sacrificing it, returning Sakashima of a Thousand Faces from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Karmic Guide.
2. When Sakashima of a Thousand Faces enters the battlefield, it triggers, returning Loyal Retainers from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Sakashima of a Thousand Faces.
4. Repeat.

This elegant loop relies on Sakashima of a Thousand Faces entering as a clone of Karmic Guide to continuously recycle your graveyard, with Sakashima's clone effect cleverly bypassing the legend rule thanks to its own static ability. When you sacrifice Sakashima to Umbral Collar Zealot's activated ability, you can immediately use Loyal Retainers to pull Sakashima right back out of the graveyard and back into the Karmic Guide role. Each iteration of this cycle triggers Karmic Guide's enter-the-battlefield ability to resurrect Loyal Retainers, while Umbral Collar Zealot's sacrifice outlet lets you endlessly dig through your library with surveil 1.
