How it works

1. During your precombat main phase, activate Thermopod's second ability by sacrificing the legendary creature with flying, adding .
2. When the creature dies, Jackdaw Savior triggers, returning Loyal Retainers from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Activate Loyal Retainers by sacrificing it, returning the legendary creature with flying from your graveyard to the battlefield.
4. Repeat.

This clever recursion engine relies on Jackdaw Savior's flying-dependent death trigger to resurrect Loyal Retainers whenever your legendary flyer hits the dirt. Once Thermopod is in play to convert your creature sacrifices into a steady stream of red mana, sacrificing that legendary creature fuels the engine while triggering Jackdaw Savior to bring back Loyal Retainers. You can then immediately cash in Loyal Retainers to pull your legendary flyer right back out of the graveyard. By looping these sacrifices back and forth, you generate an endless parade of enter-the-battlefield and death triggers alongside an infinite supply of red mana.
