How it works

1. During your precombat main phase, activate Phantom Train by sacrificing the legendary creature with flying.
2. When the creature dies, Jackdaw Savior triggers, returning Loyal Retainers from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Resolve the Phantom Train ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Activate Loyal Retainers by sacrificing it, returning the legendary creature with flying from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This clever recursion loop relies on Phantom Train as a reliable outlet to repeatedly sacrifice a legendary creature with flying. Each time that creature hits the graveyard, Jackdaw Savior's triggered ability sees a flying creature die and plucks Loyal Retainers back from your graveyard to the battlefield. From there, you can immediately crack Loyal Retainers to return your legendary flyer to the battlefield, resetting the loop and letting you grow Phantom Train infinitely with +1/+1 counters.
