How it works

1. During your precombat main phase, activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing the legendary creature with flying.
2. When the creature dies, Jackdaw Savior triggers, returning Loyal Retainers from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Activate Loyal Retainers by sacrificing it, returning the legendary creature with flying from your graveyard to the battlefield.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop dances right through the graveyard by using Umbral Collar Zealot as a dedicated sacrifice outlet that puts cards into your yard while growing itself. Whenever you sacrifice your legendary creature with flying to fuel that engine, Jackdaw Savior swoops in to trigger its flying-matter ability, pulling Loyal Retainers back from the graveyard to the battlefield. From there, Loyal Retainers can immediately sacrifice itself to return that legendary flier back to the field, setting the stage to start the whole cycle over again.
