How it works

1. Activate Codie by paying 4 and tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Filigree Sages by paying , untapping Codie.
3. Repeat from step 2.
4. Once you have an arbitrarily large number of Codie triggers, cast any nonpermanent spell by paying its mana cost.
5. Codie triggers for each time you activated its ability.
6. Resolve the first trigger, causing you to exile cards from the top of your library until you exile an instant or sorcery spell with lesser mana value, and allowing you to cast that spell without paying its mana cost.
7. Repeat step 6 for each remaining trigger.

This intricate loop turns Codie, Vociferous Codex into a massive mana-producing engine by leveraging Power Artifact to slash the activation cost of Filigree Sages down from `{2}{U}` to just `{U}`. With the Sages able to untap the codex for a single blue mana, you can repeatedly tap Codie to generate rainbow mana and stack up an arbitrary number of delayed casting triggers. Once you're ready, casting any regular spell will unleash Codie's accumulated cascade triggers, letting you rifle through your library to cast a massive subset of your instant and sorcery spells completely for free.
