How it works

1. Activate Famished Paladin by tapping it, adding one mana of any color.
2. Judge of Currents triggers, causing you to gain 1 life.
3. Famished Paladin triggers, untapping itself.

This clever loop turns an unlikely trio into a self-sustaining engine by rewriting the very fabric of your creature types. Rukarumel, Biologist acts as the linchpin, making all your nontoken creatures—including Famished Paladin and Judge of Currents—into Slivers in addition to their other types. Cryptolith Rite grants that entire unified family the power to tap for mana, allowing Famished Paladin to tap itself for a color. Because Judge of Currents is now swept up in Rukarumel's type-changing effect, tapping the Paladin triggers the Judge to gain you 1 life, which in turn fires off Famished Paladin's own untap ability so you can immediately repeat the process for infinite colored mana and infinite life.
