How it works

1. Play Glacial Chasm either from your hand or from your graveyard.
2. When Glacial Chasm enters the battlefield, its second ability triggers, causing you to sacrifice another land you control.
3. Play any land from your graveyard.
4. At the beginning of your next upkeep, Glacial Chasm's cumulative upkeep ability triggers, allowing you to choose not to pay the cost and sacrifice it instead.
5. Repeat.

This lock relies on Glacial Chasm to completely shroud you from all damage, but its escalating cumulative upkeep and land-sacrifice entry trigger normally make it self-destruct in short order. Crucible of Worlds solves this fragility by letting you freely replay the Chasm from your graveyard turn after turn, turning its necessary sacrifice into a mere reset button. Meanwhile, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove ensures you have the extra land drop needed each turn to redeploy the Chasm without falling behind on resources.
