How it works

  1. Cast Chromatic Sphere from your graveyard by paying 0 and discarding an artifact land card from your hand.
  2. Activate Chromatic Sphere by paying 1, tapping and sacrificing it, adding 1 and causing you to draw a card.
  3. Scrap Trawler triggers, returning an artifact land card from your graveyard to your hand.
  4. Repeat.

This recursive loop turns your graveyard into an engine by leveraging Six, whose retrace ability lets you continuously cast Chromatic Sphere right out of the graveyard simply by discarding a land card. Because Chromatic Sphere costs {1} to activate, Ugin, the Ineffable steps in to make your colorless spells cost {2} less, meaning the Sphere becomes entirely free to cast and actually fuels its own activation cost with the mana it produces. Meanwhile, Scrap Trawler sits on the battlefield watching the Sphere go to the graveyard, triggering its ability to return your discarded land card (or other cheap artifacts) right back to your hand to keep the cycle going.
