How it works

1. Activate Heartless HIdetsugu by tapping it, dealing damage to each player equal to half their life total, rounded down.
2. At the beginning of your end step, Archfiend of Despair triggers, causing each opponent to lose life equal to the life they lost this turn.
3. Each opponent loses the game due to having 0 or less life.

This brutal pairing cuts your opponents' life totals down in a single stroke and leaves them with no way to recover. By tapping Heartless Hidetsugu, you slice every player's life total in half, which inherently triggers life loss for your opponents. Meanwhile, Archfiend of Despair sits on the battlefield silently shutting down any hopes of life gain, while its end-step trigger doubles down on that initial damage by forcing each opponent to lose that exact same amount of life all over again, swiftly reducing their life totals to zero and ending the game.
