Infinite lifeloss for target opponentTarget opponent loses the game
How it works
Cast Torgaar either from your hand or from the command zone by paying at most 6 plus commander tax, if applicable.
When Torgaar enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing an opponent to lose an amount of life equal to their life total minus 20.
At the beginning of your end step, Archfiend of Despair triggers, causing the opponent to lose life equal to the life they lost this turn.
The opponent loses the game as a state-based action due to having 0 or less life.
By letting you sacrifice creatures as an additional cost, Torgaar, Famine Incarnate hits the battlefield fast and immediately halves an opponent's life total down to twenty. Meanwhile, Archfiend of Despair sits passively on the board to lock down any potential life gain and ensure that whatever life your opponents lose during the turn is ruthlessly doubled at the beginning of the end step. The magic of this combination lies in Torgaar's entry trigger reducing the opponent's life total to the exact threshold that Archfiend of Despair's end-step trigger then mirrors, instantly draining away their remaining life and closing out the game.
