How it works

1. Cast Recruit the Worthy with buyback by paying due to its affinity for creatures, creating a creature token and returning Recruit the Worthy to your hand.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding .
3. Repeat.

This loop achieves a self-sustaining engine by turning the creation and sacrifice of tokens into a closed mana loop. With Witherbloom, the Balancer on the board, its static ability grants your instants and sorceries affinity for creatures, which reduces the cost of Recruit the Worthy down to just its colored mana requirement. Once you cast Recruit the Worthy and resolve it to create a Soldier token, you immediately feed that token to Phyrexian Altar to generate the exact white mana needed to pay for the spell's buyback cost, returning it directly to your hand to start over.
