How it works

1. Activate Tree of Perdition by tapping it, causing its toughness to become equal to an opponents life total, and causing that opponent to lose life equal to twice the difference between their life total and Tree of Perdition's toughness as the ability resolved.
2. If the opponent's life total was at least double Tree of Perdition's toughness as the ability resolved, they will lose the game as a state-based action due to having 0 or less life.

This lethal pairing weaponizes life-swapping mechanics by turning a simple exchange into an instant-kill condition. When you activate Tree of Perdition, it targets an opponent and attempts to swap their life total with its current toughness. Ordinarily, this would just drop them down to 13 life, but the passive presence of Bloodletter of Aclazotz fundamentally distorts that math. Because any life loss your opponents suffer during your turn is doubled, the massive chunk of life they lose from the tree's swap is instantly amplified, plunging their life total straight to zero and eliminating them on the spot.
