How it works

1. Activate Midnight Guard by tapping it, creating a token copy of any creature token you control that entered the battlefield this turn.
2. When the creature token enters the battlefield, Midnight Guard triggers, untapping itself.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop hinges on turning your untap engine into a token-printing press. Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds grants Midnight Guard an activated ability that taps it to duplicate any creature token that arrived this turn, and every single time that new token hits the battlefield, Midnight Guard’s native triggered ability automatically untaps it in response. Because you can tap and untap it indefinitely in an endless chain, you can flood the board with as many copies of your newly arrived tokens as your heart desires.
