How it works

1. Tap Famished Paladin to create 3 1/1 creature tokens with haste.
2. The token ETBs, triggering Verdant Sun's Avatar three times, gaining you 1 life each time.
3. Famished Paladin triggers, untapping itself.
4. Repeat for infinite creature tokens.

By enchanting Famished Paladin with Elemental Mastery, you turn its innate inability to untap normally into an explosive engine for generating an army. Tapping the Paladin leverages its power to fuel Elemental Mastery's activated ability, instantly spawning a trio of haste-granting tokens. Each time one of those tokens hits the battlefield, Verdant Sun's Avatar triggers to reward you with life based on the token's toughness. That influx of life immediately satisfies Famished Paladin's untap condition, resetting the Paladin so you can tap it right back into the fray for an unstoppable loop of infinite tokens, enters-the-battlefield triggers, and lifegain.
