How it works

1. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Safehold Elite
2. When Safehold Elite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Safehold Elite enters, Stalwart Successor triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Safehold Elite
4. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Safehold Elite into an immortal ammunition machine by leveraging its persist ability alongside Goblin Bombardment's sacrifice outlet. Normally, the -1/-1 counter left behind by persist would shut down future returns, but Stalwart Successor neatly bypasses this drawback by triggering whenever counters are placed on a creature, neutralizing the -1/+1 counter cancellation rule and resetting the Elite entirely. This creates a perpetual cycle of death, rebirth, and sacrifice that can endlessly pelt any target for infinite damage.
