How it works

1. Activate Goblin Bombardment by sacrificing Safehold Elite.
2. When Safehold Elite dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. Hardened Academic triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on Safehold Elite.
4. Resolve the Goblin Bombardment ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop harnesses the sacrifice outlet of Goblin Bombardment to endlessly feed Safehold Elite into the graveyard, triggering its persist ability to return it with a -1/-1 counter.
