How it works

1. Cast Infernal Plunge by paying and sacrificing another creature.
2. Holding priority, activate Rootha by paying 2 and returning it from the battlefield to your hand, copying Infernal Plunge.
3. Resolve the copy of Infernal Plunge, adding .
4. Activate Sneak Attack by paying , putting Rootha from your hand onto the battlefield.
5. Repeat from step 2.

This loop turns Rootha, Mercurial Artist into a self-sustaining engine by leveraging Sneak Attack to cheat her back onto the battlefield at instant speed for just one red mana. Once she's there, you cast Infernal Plunge, sacrificing whatever expendable creature you have lying around to net three red mana, and immediately bounce Rootha to copy that ritual spell before it resolves. The mana generated by Infernal Plunge funds Rootha's ability and Sneak Attack's activation cost while leaving you with a surplus, allowing you to infinitely recur Rootha for an endless stream of creature enters-and-leaves-the-battlefield triggers and magecraft activations.
