Magar of the Magic Strings + Warrior's Oath + Discontinuity
Magar of the Magic Strings
Warrior's Oath
Discontinuity
Infinite turnsLock
How it works
Cast Warrior's Oath by paying its mana cost, causing you to take an extra turn after this one and to lose the game at the beginning of that turn's end step.
Activate Magar by paying 1, noting Warrior's Oath and putting it face down on the battlefield as a 3/3 creature.
Activate Magar by paying 1, noting Discontinuity and putting it face down on the battlefield as a 3/3 creature.
During your next turn, deal combat damage to an opponent using the face down creatures that have Warrior's Oath and Discontinuity noted. The creatures trigger.
Resolve the first trigger, casting a copy of Warrior's Oath without paying its mana cost. Resolve the copy, causing you to take an extra turn after this one and to lose the game at the beginning of that turn's end step.
Resolve the second trigger, casting a copy of Discontinuity without paying its mana cost. Resolve the copy, causing you to end the turn. This will prevent the Warrior's Oath trigger from causing you to lose the game.
Repeat from step 3.
This ingenious loop relies on Magar of the Magic Strings to turn graveyard shenanigans into an unstoppable engine by animating your most explosive spells into 3/3 combat threats. When your face-down creature connects, it copies and casts Warrior's Oath for free to stack infinite extra turns, but that normally comes with a lethal delayed trigger at the end step. Thankfully, the second face-down creature delivers a free copy of Discontinuity right in time, ending the turn prematurely to bypass that game-losing penalty and letting you safely perpetuate the cycle forever.
