How it works

  1. Activate Gwenna by tapping it, adding U manaU mana that can only be spent to cast creature spells or activate abilities of creatures.
  2. Cast Aethersnipe for its evoke cost by paying U manaU mana.
  3. Gwenna triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it and untapping it.
  4. When Aethersnipe enters the battlefield, its first ability and evoke ability trigger.
  5. Resolve the first Aethersnipe trigger, returning it from the battlefield to your hand.
  6. Resolve the second Aethersnipe trigger, failing to sacrifice it as it is no longer on the battlefield.
  7. Repeat.

This clever loop lets you endlessly recur Aethersnipe by exploiting its own evoke trigger. You begin by tapping Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea to generate the mana needed to cast Aethersnipe for its evoke cost, a cost further discounted by Honest Rutstein. Because Aethersnipe's entry triggers its bounce ability while the sacrifice trigger is still waiting on the stack, you can target the Aethersnipe itself and return it to your hand before it ever gets sacrificed. Meanwhile, casting Aethersnipe satisfies Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea's power threshold requirement, untapping her and growing her with a +1/+1 counter each time. Honest Rutstein's cost reduction ensures the loop stays cheap, allowing you to repeat this cycle indefinitely for infinite creature triggers and growing Gwenna boundlessly.
