How it works
- Cast The Master by paying .
- When The Master enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to sacrifice Phyrexian Metamorph and create at least two Treasure tokens.
- Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
- Activate The Master by paying and sacrificing a Treasure, returning Phyrexian Metamorph from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of The Master, which causes the Phyrexian Metamorph to be a copy of Ruthless Technomancer.
- When Phyrexian Metamorph enters the battlefield, it triggers, causing you to sacrifice The Master and create two Treasure tokens.
- Activate a Treasure by tapping and sacrificing it, adding .
- Activate Phyrexian Metamorph by paying and sacrificing a Treasure, returning The Master from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Ruthless Technomancer.
- Repeat from step 2.
This elegant loop relies on an endless exchange of identities between The Master, Formed Anew and Phyrexian Metamorph to repeatedly trigger sacrifice and death effects. The Master uses its unique cast-triggered exile ability to tuck away Phyrexian Metamorph initially, allowing it to re-enter as a copy of Ruthless Technomancer, whose entry-triggered sacrifice provides the Treasures needed to fuel the engine. Once the loop is underway, Zirda, the Dawnwaker's cost-reduction ability isn't even strictly necessary because Ruthless Technomancer's recursion ability only costs {2}{B}, but the pieces seamlessly alternate entering and dying to loop indefinitely—recursively bringing each other back from the graveyard while generating infinite sacrifice and death triggers.
