How it works

1. Activate Gemstone Array's first ability by paying 1, putting two charge counters on it.
2. Activate Gemstone Array's second ability by removing a charge counter from it, adding 1.
3. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms Gemstone Array into an absolute powerhouse by turning its mana conversion into a self-sustaining engine. Because Zirda, the Dawnwaker discounts activated abilities by {2}, the cost to put charge counters on Gemstone Array is reduced to just a single generic mana, allowing you to filter generic mana into any color while generating a net surplus. Meanwhile, Doubling Season supercharges the entire process by doubling every counter placed on the artifact, turning each activation into an avalanche of extra charge counters and infinite colored mana.
