How it works
- Cast Exchange of Words by paying 1.
- When Exchange of Words enters the battlefield, it triggers, exchanging the text boxes of it and Wormfang Manta.
- At the beginning of your end step, The Mighty Thor triggers, blinking Exchange of Words.
- Exchange of Words leaves and enters the battlefield, triggering the second ability it gained from Wormfang Manta's textbox as well as its own ability.
- Resolve the first Exchange of Words trigger, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- Resolve the second Exchange of Words trigger, exchanging the text boxes of it and Wormfang Manta.
- Repeat from step 3 during each turn.
This cunning engine exploits Exchange of Words and Opalescence to permanently hijack Wormfang Manta's powerful text box, turning the enchantment into a repeating time machine. When Opalescence makes Exchange of Words a creature, it becomes a legal target to swap texts with Wormfang Manta, granting the enchantment the Manta's dreaded enter-the-battlefield and leave-the-battlefield triggers while passing the enchantment's own enter-the-battlefield trigger to the Manta. Once this text theft is complete, The Mighty Thor, Jane Foster steps in as the conductor, repeatedly blinking the Exchange of Words with its attack trigger to bounce it in and out of play. Each cycle forces the Manta's leave-the-battlefield effect to resolve off the blinking enchantment, chaining together an endless series of extra turns that completely locks your opponents out of the game.
