How it works
- Activate Kaya the Inexorable's first ability by putting a loyalty counter on it, putting a ghostform counter on Wormfang Manta.
- Activate Shilgengar by sacrificing Wormfang Manta.
- When Wormfang Manta dies, its second ability and its ghostform ability trigger.
- Resolve the ghostform trigger, returning Wormfang Manta from your graveyard to your hand and creating a 1/1 Spirit creature token.
- Resolve the second trigger, causing you to take an extra turn after this one.
- Resolve the Shilgengar ability
- Cast Wormfang Manta by paying 5.
- Wormfang Manta's first ability does not trigger due to Tocatli Honor Guard.
- Repeat each turn.
This ingenious loop harnesses Wormfang Manta's self-contained time-warp mechanic by weaponizing its drawback, turning what is normally a harsh penalty into an endless stream of extra turns. Normally, dropping the Manta would force you to skip your next turn, but Tocatli Honor Guard steps in as a silent guardian, dampening its entry triggers so you never suffer that penalty. Meanwhile, Kaya the Inexorable prepares the Manta for recycling by tagging it with a ghostform counter, ensuring it returns safely to your hand whenever it dies instead of staying lost in the graveyard. Finally, Shilgengar, Sire of Famine acts as the sacrificial engine to send the Manta on its repeatable journey, generating Blood tokens along the way while you simply recast the Manta each turn to lock down infinite turns.
