How it works

1. Activate Devoted Druid's first ability by tapping it, adding .
2. Activate Ghave's first ability by paying 1 and removing a +1/+1 counter from a creature you control, creating a 1/1 Saproling creature token.
3. When the Saproling enters the battlefield, Cathars' Crusade triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
4. Activate Devoted Druid's second ability by putting a -1/-1 counter on it, untapping it.
5. Repeat.

This brilliant loop hinges on Cathars' Crusade turning every new arrival into a source of ongoing growth, allowing you to continually fuel Ghave, Guru of Spores and his ability to churn out Saproling tokens. As those tokens enter, the Crusade's static trigger floods your board with +1/+1 counters that easily offset any drawbacks and keep the engine running. Meanwhile, Devoted Druid plays a crucial dual role, supplying initial green mana while using its self-untapping ability to reset endlessly as long as those counters keep flowing back onto it.
