How it works
Activate any number of lands by tapping them, adding at least 3.
Activate Trenching Steed by sacrificing a land.
Repeat step 2 until you control no lands.
Activate Aftermath Analyst by paying 3 and sacrificing it, returning all lands from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
When the lands enter, Emeria Shepherd and Tiller Engine trigger that many times.
Resolve all Tiller Engine triggers, untapping each land that entered.
Resolve an Emeria Shepherd trigger that was triggered by a Plains, returning Aftermath Analyst from your graveyard to the battlefield.
Resolve all other Emeria Shepherd triggers, returning any number of nonland permanents from your graveyard to either your hand or the battlefield.
Repeat.
This clever recursion engine relies on Trenching Steed to feed lands directly into your graveyard as fuel, which Aftermath Analyst can then unearth en masse by cashing in its activated ability. As that flood of lands hits the battlefield tapped, Tiller Engine immediately untaps them to keep your mana economy flowing, while Emeria Shepherd swoops in with its landfall trigger to bypass the hand restriction entirely if a Plains is among them. This lets you seamlessly pluck Aftermath Analyst right back from the graveyard to the battlefield, setting up an endless loop that continuously triggers sacrifice and death effects while recycling every nonland permanent you own.
