How it works

1. Activate Perilous Forays by paying 1 and sacrificing a creature you control, searching your library for a land card with a basic land type and putting it on the battlefield tapped.
2. When the land enters the battlefield, Felidar Retreat and Tiller Engine trigger.
3. Resolve the Felidar Retreat trigger, creating a creature token.
4. Resolve the Tiller Engine trigger, untapping the land.
5. Activate the land by tapping it, adding 1.
6. Repeat.

This loop turns a modest mana investment into a complete botanical sweep of your library by transforming every basic-typed land into a self-sustaining engine. When you sacrifice a creature to pay for Perilous Forays, it fetches a land that arrives tapped, which immediately rouses Tiller Engine to untap it while Felidar Retreat steps in to forge a fresh 2/2 white Cat Beast token. You can then tap that newly untraped land to harvest the exact mana needed to fuel Perilous Forays all over again, using the tokens provided by Felidar Retreat as endless sacrifice fodder. It is a wonderfully self-contained ecosystem that rapidly strips every single basic-typed land straight out of your deck and drops them directly onto the battlefield.
