How it works

1. Cast Strength of Will by paying 1, targeting Basking Broodscale.
2. Put a +1/+1 counter on Basking Broodscale.
3. Basking Broodscale triggers, creating a creature token.
4. When the creature token enters, Warstorm Surge triggers, dealing damage to Basking Broodscale.
5. Basking Broodscale triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This loop transforms self-inflicted damage into an explosive creature factory by bridging Basking Broodscale with Warstorm Surge. While Basking Broodscale normally relies on its own ability to start growing, casting Strength of Will on it gives it the crucial "whenever dealt damage" trigger it needs to convert incoming hits into +1/+1 counters. Every time a counter lands, Basking Broodscale's inherent triggered ability generates an Eldrazi Spawn token, which immediately drops onto the battlefield and triggers Warstorm Surge. The resulting damage cycles right back into Basking Broodscale—kept safe from dying thanks to Strength of Will's indestructible grant—creating an automated, self-sustaining loop that continuously spawns tokens and grows your creature to astronomical proportions.
