How it works

1. Cast Irenicus's Vile Duplication by paying 3, creating a token copy of Kodama of the East Tree that isn't legendary.
2. Play Golgari Rot Farm.
3. Kodama of the East Tree, the Kodama of the East Tree token, and Golgari Rot Farm trigger.
4. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree token's trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
5. Resolve the Golgari Rot Farm trigger, returning it to your hand.
6. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting Golgari Rot Farm onto the battlefield.
7. The Kodama of the East Tree token and Golgari Rot Farm trigger.
8. Resolve the Golgari Rot Farm trigger, returning it to your hand.
9. Resolve the Kodama of the East Tree token's trigger, putting Golgari Rot Farm onto the battlefield.
10. Kodama of the East Tree and Golgari Rot Farm trigger.
11. Repeat from step 5.
12. Cast Irenicus's Vile Duplication by paying 3, creating a nonlegendary token copy of Kodama of the East Tree with haste.

15. Resolve the token Kodama of the East Tree trigger, choosing not to put anything from your hand onto the battlefield.
16. Resolve the Golgari Rot Farm trigger, returning it to your hand from the battlefield.
17. Resolve the nontoken Kodama of the East Tree trigger, putting Golgari Rot Farm from your hand onto the battlefield.

This clever loop relies on the duplicated trigger power of two Kodama of the East Trees—the original and a nonlegendary copy made by Irenicus's Vile Duplication—to ping-pong a single land back and forth indefinitely. By playing Golgari Rot Farm, you trigger its bounce-a-land drawback, but its entry also feeds the two Kodama triggers, allowing one to instantly cheat the returned land right back onto the battlefield. Because each Kodama of the East Tree triggers off the other's entry (or its own copy's entry), you can endlessly alternate which permanent is doing the pulling to create an infinite loop of landfall triggers without ever needing to cast another spell.
