How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Golgari Rot Farm.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Troubled Healer by sacrificing Golgari Rot Farm.
5. When Golgari Rot Farm dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Golgari Rot Farm from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Golgari Rot Farm enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Troubled Healer ability
8. Repeat.

This ingenious loop transforms ordinary artifact casting into an infinite engine by leveraging the unique static ability of Toph, the First Metalbender, which turns your nontoken artifacts into lands. This allows Golgari Rot Farm—which enters the battlefield to bounce a land to your hand—to target your cast-and-recast zero-mana artifacts. You simply sacrifice Golgari Rot Farm to Troubled Healer's activation to fuel its damage prevention, sending the bounce-land to the graveyard where Toph, Hardheaded Teacher can continuously trigger or support your setup, allowing Golgari Rot Farm to bring itself right back and restart the entire cycle.
