How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Golgari Rot Farm.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Phantom Train by sacrificing Golgari Rot Farm.
5. When Golgari Rot Farm dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Golgari Rot Farm from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Golgari Rot Farm enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Phantom Train ability

This clever loop relies on Toph, the First Metalbender turning your nontoken artifacts into lands, meaning any cheap artifact can double as a bounce target for Golgari Rot Farm when it hits the battlefield. Once Golgari Rot Farm is sacrificed to Phantom Train to animate the Train and grow its stats, its own death triggers this entire sequence into motion. Because Toph, Hardheaded Teacher is watching your spells and the Golgari Rot Farm keeps returning from the graveyard via its earthbend protection, you can continuously recycle the artifact to fuel an infinite storm of sacrifices, enters-the-battlefield effects, and land drops.
