How it works

1. Cast the artifact by paying 0.
2. Toph, Hardheaded Teacher triggers, earthbending Golgari Rot Farm.
3. Resolve the artifact spell.
4. Activate Umbral Collar Zealot by sacrificing Golgari Rot Farm.
5. When Golgari Rot Farm dies, Toph, Hardheaded Teach triggers, returning Golgari Rot Farm from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped.
6. When Golgari Rot Farm enters, it triggers, returning the artifact cast in step 1 from the battlefield to your hand, as it's a land due to Toph, the First Metalbender.
7. Resolve the Umbral Collar Zealot ability
8. Repeat.

This clever loop transforms an ordinary 0-mana artifact into a perpetual motion machine by turning your entire board into a recursive puzzle. With Toph, the First Metalbender actively redefining all your nontoken artifacts as lands, the artifact you cast triggers Toph, Hardheaded Teacher to earthbend Golgari Rot Farm into a living creature. You can then feed that animated land directly to Umbral Collar Zealot, triggering a surveil and sending Golgari Rot Farm to the graveyard. Because it's a land, its death conveniently triggers Toph, Hardheaded Teacher's return effect to bring Golgari Rot Farm right back to the battlefield tapped, where its own entry trigger bounces the original artifact back to your hand to start the cycle anew.
