How it works
- Activate the creature with Umbral Mantle attached using Tolarian Academy's ability by tapping it, adding at least .
- Activate the creature by paying 3 and untapping it, giving it +2/+2 until end of turn.
- Repeat.
This vintage-legal loop turns a simple artifact-counting land into a powerhouse by letting your creatures tap for massive amounts of blue mana directly. Steward of the Harvest is the engine of the entire strategy, entering the battlefield to exile Tolarian Academy from your graveyard and graciously granting its devastating tap ability to every creature you control. By outfitting your Steward of the Harvest (or any creature inheriting its abilities) with Umbral Mantle, you bypass normal summoning restrictions and use the generated mana to continually untap itself. This creates an unstoppable cycle of infinite blue mana, infinite untaps, and an infinitely large creature to close out the game.
