How it works

1. Activate Death Cultist by sacrificing it.
2. When Death Cultist dies, Mortuary triggers, putting Death Cultist from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
3. Resolve the Death Cultist ability, causing target player to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life.
4. Cast Death Cultist from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
5. Repeat.

This loop turns a humble sacrifice into a relentless drain engine by using Mortuary to catch Death Cultist every time it hits the graveyard and automatically recycle it back to the top of your library. From there, Gwenom, Remorseless steps in with its attack-triggered ability, granting you permission to cast spells directly from the top of your library and substituting your own life total for the mana cost. Because Death Cultist only costs one mana, you can easily pay that single life using the life you just drained from your opponent, fueling an endless cycle of sacrifices that effortlessly drains the table dry.
