How it works

1. Cast Tormod's Crypt by paying its mana cost.
2. Teshar triggers, returning Scrap Trawler from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Activate Tormod's Crypt by tapping and sacrificing it.
4. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Scrap Trawler.
5. When Scrap Trawler dies, it triggers, returning Tormod's Crypt from your graveyard to your hand.
6. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability.
7. Repeat.

This clever loop relies on a recursive feedback loop between Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle and Scrap Trawler, using Tormod's Crypt as the free historic spell that restarts the entire engine. Whenever you recast the zero-mana artifact, Teshar’s trigger resurrects the Scrap Trawler, which in turn plucks the sacrificed crypt right back from your graveyard into your hand the moment Altar of Dementia sends the crawler to the graveyard. The altar acts as the ultimate outlet, letting you sacrifice the crawler to infinitely mill your opponents while chaining these cheap artifacts over and over again.
