How it works

1. Give Deathbringer Thoctar lifelink, if needed.
2. Activate Deathbringer Thoctar by removing a +1/+1 counter from it, dealing 1 damage to any target and causing you to gain 1 life.
3. Archangel of Thune triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
4. Repeat from step 2.

This loop transforms Deathbringer Thoctar into a self-sustaining artillery piece by leaning on Archangel of Thune to constantly replenish its ammo. Whenever Deathbringer Thoctar uses a counter to ping a target, its newly acquired lifelink triggers Archangel of Thune, automatically distributing a fresh +1/+1 counter back onto Deathbringer Thoctar—and every other creature you control—to pay the cost all over again.
