How it works

1. Cause a Dinosaur to enter the battlefield under your control.
2. Forerunner of the Empire's second ability triggers, dealing 1 damage to each creature.
3. Raptor Hatchling triggers, and Rite of Passage triggers for each of your creatures dealt damage this way.
4. Resolve all Rite of Passage triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control.
5. Resolve the Raptor Hatchling trigger, creating a 3/3 Dinosaur creature token.
6. Repeat from step 2.

This clever loop turns the self-contained ecosystem of the jungle into a perpetual motion machine, fueled entirely by the arrival of a single scaled beast. Once Forerunner of the Empire is in place to orchestrate the carnage, its triggered ability rains down 1 damage on your entire board whenever any Dinosaur enters. That incoming blow harmlessly triggers Raptor Hatchling's enrage ability to spawn a fresh 3/3 green Dinosaur token with trample, while Rite of Passage simultaneously steps in to fortify your ranks by permanently growing every surviving creature with a +1/+1 counter. Because the newly hatched token immediately restarts Forerunner of the Empire's damage wave, you generate an endless cascade of creature tokens and infinitely large armies.
