When Wormfang Newt enters the battlefield, its first ability triggers, exiling a Plains.
Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability from step 1, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
Repeat.
This clever loop transforms a simple sacrifice outlet into an engine of endless rebirth, centered around the incredible value of Emeria Shepherd. By feeding Wormfang Newt to Bartolomé del Presidio, you trigger the Newt's leave-the-battlefield ability to return an exiled Plains directly to play, which in turn sparks the Shepherd's landfall ability to pull the Newt right back out of your graveyard. The Newt then instantly re-exiles a Plains upon its return, allowing you to tap that land for mana before the Shepherd's trigger resolves and sets the whole dance in motion once again.
