How it works

1. Activate Bartolomé del Presidio by sacrificing Cayth.
2. When Cayth dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Cayth enters, its fabricate ability triggers, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
4. Resolve the Bartolomé del Presidio ability.
5. Repeat.

This clever loop hinges on the synergy between Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight and Cayth, Famed Mechanist, allowing you to continually sacrifice and recycle your key pieces. By using Bartolomé del Presidio as a willing executioner, you send Cayth to the graveyard where its persist ability—granted by the backside of Eirdu, Carrier of Dawn // Isilu, Carrier of Twilight—brings it right back with a -1/-1 counter. The brilliance of the engine lies in Cayth's own fabricate ability (along with the other nontoken buffers it provides), which instantly places a +1/+1 counter upon re-entry to neatly cancel out the persist penalty and keep the loop immortal.
