How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Cult Conscript, adding .
2. Activate Cult Conscript by paying 1, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
3. Quintorius, History Chaser triggers, creating a creature token.
4. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing the creature token, adding 1.
5. Repeat.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever loop of recursive sacrifices to fuel its own engine. By using Phyrexian Altar to turn Cult Conscript into the black mana needed to activate the skeleton's own recursion, you seed the graveyard with a departing card that triggers Quintorius, History Chaser. That trigger creates a Spirit token, which you then immediately sacrifice to Phyrexian Altar to generate the generic mana required to offset the cost of bringing Cult Conscript back.
