How it works

1. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Vesperlark, adding one mana of any color.
2. When Vesperlark dies, it triggers, returning Activated Sleeper from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Vesperlark.
3. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Activated Sleeper, adding one mana of any color.
4. When Activated Sleeper dies, it triggers, returning Activated Sleeper from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Vesperlark.
5. Repeat from step 3.

This ingenious loop relies on a clever interplay between recursion and cloning, starting when Vesperlark is cast and sacrificed to Phyrexian Altar for mana. Because Vesperlark leaves the battlefield, its delayed trigger allows you to return Activated Sleeper from the graveyard, having it enter as a copy of Vesperlark itself. You can then feed this new copy right back into Phyrexian Altar to generate another mana, triggering its own copy-ability to resurrect another Activated Sleeper from the graveyard in an endless, self-sustaining cycle.
