How it works

1. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Vesperlark.
2. When Vesperlark dies, it triggers, returning Activated Sleeper from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Vesperlark.
3. Activate Altar of Dementia by sacrificing Activated Sleeper.
4. When Activated Sleeper dies, it triggers, returning Activated Sleeper from your graveyard to the battlefield as a copy of Vesperlark.
5. Resolve the Altar of Dementia ability, causing target player to mill cards equal to Activated Sleeper's power.
6. Repeat from step 3.

This clever loop uses Vesperlark's evoke ability and its leaves-the-battlefield trigger to set up a continuous cycle of sacrifices and returns. By sacrificing Vesperlark to Altar of Dementia, you trigger its ability to pull Activated Sleeper straight from your graveyard, which enters as a fresh copy of Vesperlark. From there, you can sacrifice that copy to Altar of Dementia right back into another Activated Sleeper, milling your opponent bit by bit with every iteration.
