How it works

1. Cast Undying Malice by paying , targeting Living Lightning.
2. Activate Phyrexian Altar by sacrificing Living Lightning, adding .
3. When Living Lightning dies, it triggers twice.
4. Resolve the first trigger, returning Undying Malice from your graveyard to your hand.
5. Resolve the second trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield.
6. Repeat.

This clever loop leverages Living Lightning not just as fodder for Phyrexian Altar, but as a recursive engine fueled by its own death. By casting Undying Malice on Living Lightning beforehand, its dying trigger ensures it immediately returns to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter while simultaneously fishing Undying Malice right back out of your graveyard. Sacrificing the creature to Phyrexian Altar in the process not only refunds your initial black mana investment, but also converts the entire sequence into an endless loop of sacrifices, enters-the-battlefield events, and spell recasts.
