How it works

1. Activate Combine Guildmage's first ability by paying 1 and tapping it.
2. Activate Sling-Gang Lieutenant by sacrificing Putrid Goblin.
3. When Putrid Goblin dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Combine Guildmage.
4. Resolve the Sling-Gang Lieutenant ability.
5. Repeat from step 2.
