How it works

1. Activate Sling-Gang Lieutenant by sacrificing Putrid Goblin.
2. When Putrid Goblin dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Bloodspore Thrinax.
3. Resolve the Sling-Gang Lieutenant ability.
4. Repeat.

This wicked little loop turns a humble goblin into an endless engine of life-drain, fueled entirely by the static mastery of Bloodspore Thrinax canceling out the drawback of Putrid Goblin's persist ability. Because Bloodspore Thrinax ensures that every creature you control enters the battlefield with extra +1/+1 counters for each counter on it, Putrid Goblin's returned form conveniently arrives with a counter to offset its own persist trigger—allowing it to die again without staying dead. You simply feed it to Sling-Gang Lieutenant, whose sacrificial outlet drains your opponents' life totals while feeding your own life total to achieve victory.
