How it works

1. Activate Goblin Chirurgeon by sacrificing Putrid Goblin.
2. When Putrid Goblin dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Master Chef.
3. Resolve the Goblin Chirurgeon ability.
4. Repeat.

This clever little engine turns a modest sacrifice outlet into an infinite recursion loop by playing with the math of counters. While Goblin Chirurgeon provides the repeatable sacrifice ability to start the cycle, Master Chef does the heavy lifting behind the scenes by giving every creature you control an additional +1/+1 counter upon entry. This static replacement effect immediately cancels out the -1/+1 counter that Putrid Goblin would normally receive from its persist ability, allowing it to return to the battlefield fresh and ready to be sacrificed over and over again.
