How it works

1. Activate Bloodflow Connoisseur by sacrificing Putrid Goblin.
2. When Putrid Goblin dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a -1/-1 counter on it.
3. When Putrid Goblin enters the battlefield, Geralf's second ability triggers, putting a number of +1/+1 counters on it equal to the number of other Zombies that entered the battlefield under your cotnrol this turn.
4. Resolve the Bloodflow Connoisseur ability, putting a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Repeat.

This engine turns the humble Putrid Goblin into an infinite sacrificial loop by leveraging Bloodflow Connoisseur to repeatedly feed it to the grave, where persist brings it right back with a -1/-1 counter. Because Geralf, the Fleshwright is watching your undead horde grow, its second ability kicks in every time the Goblin re-enters, allowing the +1/+1 counters to immediately cancel out those pesky -1/-1 counters through state-based actions. This fascinating interaction prevents the Goblin from locking itself out of future persist triggers, letting you generate infinitely repeating death and entry triggers alongside massive growth for your creatures.
