How it works

1. Activate Carrion Feeder by sacrificing Putrid Goblin.
2. When Putrid Goblin dies, its persist ability triggers, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield without a -1/-1 counter on it due to Melira.
3. Resolve the Carrion Feeder ability
4. Repeat.

This classic synergy harnesses Melira, Sylvok Outcast's static ability to completely shut down the drawback of persist, allowing Putrid Goblin to return from the graveyard again and again without ever accumulating a -1/-1 counter. Each time the Goblin hits the graveyard, Carrion Feeder is there to devour it, instantly converting the recurring sacrifice into a growing mountain of +1/+1 counters on itself. Because Melira ensures the Goblin's persist trigger always finds it pristine and counter-free, this death-defying loop can repeat an arbitrary number of times to fuel any sacrifice or enter-the-battlefield payoff you desire.
