How it works

1. Activate Blood Pet by sacrificing it.
2. When Blood Pet dies, Mortuary and Bastion of Remembrance trigger.
3. Resolve the Mortuary trigger, putting Blood Pet from your graveyard onto the top of your library.
4. Resolve the Bastion of Remembrance trigger, causing you to gain 1 life and each opponent to lose 1 life.
5. Cast Blood Pet from the top of your library by paying 1 life.
6. Repeat.

This elegant loop turns a humble mana dork into a lethal drain engine by manipulating the top of your library. When you sacrifice Blood Pet for black mana, Mortuary catches it on its way to the graveyard and neatly places it back on top of your library. Meanwhile, Bastion of Remembrance triggers off that death to drain your opponents' life totals, offsetting the 1 life you pay to cast Blood Pet right back off your library thanks to Gwenom, Remorseless's alternative casting ability.
