How it works

1. Activate Champion of the Weird by paying 1 life and putting two -1/-1 counters on Vengeful Vampire.
2. Vengeful Vampire dies due to having 0 toughness, triggering its undying ability and Vein Ripper
3. Resolve the Vein Ripper trigger, causing you to gain 2 life and causing an opponent to lose 2 life.
4. Resolve the Vengeful Vampire trigger, returning it from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it.
5. Resolve the Champion of the Weird ability from step 1, causing an opponent to blight 2.
6. Activate Champion of the Weird by paying 1 life and putting two -1/-1 counters on Vengeful Vampire, causing an opponent to blight 2.
7. Repeat.

This insidious loop centers around Champion of the Weird, whose activated ability targets Vengeful Vampire to place two -1/-1 counters on it, instantly dropping its toughness to zero and sending it to the graveyard. This death immediately triggers Vengeful Vampire's undying ability to bring it right back with a +1/+1 counter, while simultaneously feeding Vein Ripper's life-draining passive ability every single time a creature dies. By repeatedly shrinking and reviving the Vampire, you convert a minor payment of life into an unyielding engine of infinite death triggers, life loss, and life gain.
